We are Thankful!

I just wanted to share a few pictures of our Thanksgiving activities...

Our Thankful Tree is full of things like family, friends and books!


We had fun making some turkey friends with recycled materials.

Today we celebrated 11/11/11!!

We made hats with the date...





We also practiced finding addition sentences for sums to 11. We worked hard to make our number flowers...



It was a fun day!

Book Character Parade!

We had a great time during the Book Character Parade!



If you haven't read If You Give a Mouse a Cookie yet, I definitely recommend it! There are many, many great books in this series by Laura Numeroff. You can find them on amazon.com or at your local public library.

Buddy Reading!

Today we met with our Reading Buddies from Dailey Middle School! We had a great time reading to them and listening to them as they read us some great Halloween books!

Parent Teacher Conferences!

Parent Teacher Conferences are coming up on October 17th. I will be sending home more information soon. It is my goal to conference with all parents, even if not all on the 17th.

The kids in our class know now that one of my favorite things to do is read a book!! I wanted to share a few books that we've read so far in class. Be sure to check them out at your local library, I know they'll love to read them again!!

Reminders

This Wednesday, September 14th is Early Release. Students will be dismissed at 12:00 noon.

I updated the blog with this coming week's words. We will take our first spelling test this Friday.

Back to School Night is Thursday!!

I will give a short presentation about our classroom and then save some time to answer your questions. I hope that all parents, grandparents and guardians can join me!

The first PTO meeting will be taking place right before- at 5:30 pm. I hope to see you there!

What a fun first week!

We made it through the first week! We had a blast!

This week, we read The Kissing Hand and talked about how we felt about coming to school this year. We also read Tacky The Penguin and shared things that make us special and unique. We also practiced these Word Wall Words- can,a, go, have, the, see, to, we, like and I!
